State investigating Lavonia house fire

The Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's Office is investigating an arson fire that destroyed a house in Lavonia last week.
 
The Thursday fire at 281 Bow Drive was reported at roughly 7:35 a.m., according to commissioner Ralph Hudgens office.  The damage amount is estimated at $100,000, according to a news release from the office.
 
Officials said anyone with information on the case can call the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.
 
"Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist, and callers may choose to remain anonymous," the release reads.
 
The line is answered at all hours and days.
