Helen Police Chief Brian Stephens says one person is in custody and the investigation is continuing after a tip lead to the discovery of drugs in a local motel.
On Wednesday, Helen police served a search warrant at that motel room, resulting in the seizure of more than five ounces of methamphetamine, scales, needles and other drug paraphernalia.
The street value of the drugs is more than $14,000, Stephens said Thursday.
No additional details have been released and the investigation is ongoing.
