No injuries reported in accidents involving three Forsyth County school buses

No students were injured when three school buses were involved in two separate traffic accidents Wednesday afternoon.

The first wreck happened at Kelly Mill Elementary School in Cumming at 3:00 p.m., when one bus rear-ended another bus, according to Jennifer Caracciolo, school system spokeswoman.

"Both buses were loaded with approximately 40 students. We had 9 students complain of minor soreness, so we transported them back to the school to examine them," said Caracciolo in an email to AccessWDUN.

Those nine students were sent home with their parents. One bus was still operational, but a replacement had to be called for the other one.

The remaining students went home on the bus as normal, Caracciolo said.

Thirty minutes after the first wreck, a bus carrying the South Forsyth High School girls track team was hit by another vehicle at the intersection of Bethelview and Castleberry Roads.

Nobody was injured, according to Caracciolo.

"We had other buses from SFHS going to the track meet, so they were transferred to those buses, and went to Creekview HS in Cherokee County," said Caracciolo.
