A 21-year-old man remained behind bars in the Hall County Jail Thursday afternoon, being held for Wisconsin authorities on a sexual assault warrant.
Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware identified the man as Joseph Alex Stewart-Elliston of Gainesville. Deputies arrested Stewart-Elliston during a warrant service Wednesday on Saddle Club Road, according to Ware.
The warrant was issued on February 22 out of Wood County, Wisconsin, which sits in the center of the state.
Ware said the arrest occurred without incident. Details about the allegation in Wisconsin were not immediately available.
