Anticipated rain postpones Tuesday night work on Boling Bridge

By AccessWDUN Staff

Bridge replacement work continues this week on Dawsonville Highway (SR 53) over the Chestatee River/Lake Lanier, but the Tuesday night work has been postponed because of anticipated rain, according to the Georgia DOT.

Crews now expect to pour another concrete support for the new bridge structure on Wednesday night, February 8, 2017. This work will mean a westbound right-hand travel lane will be closed.

Traffic control to guide traffic around the construction will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday overnight until 6 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2017. The single lane closure will be in effect beginning at Dogwood Trail and ending at Little Hall Park.

"Please slow to the posted 35 miles per hour speed limit while in the work zone," GDOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland said in a press release.
