UPDATE: One dead, three injured in Sat. night wreck in SE Hall County

By AccessWDUN Staff

A Gainesville woman was killed and three people injured in a Saturday night traffic accident in southeast Hall County that involved three vehicles.

According to Cpl. Luke E. Mize of the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol, the accident occurred in the 3700 block of Harmony Church Road around 7:30 pm, when a north bound 1993 Nissan Sentra driven by Vanessa Kay Lindsay, age 21 of Gainesville, struck the back of a black four-wheeler travelling in the north bound lane.

The four-wheeler, driven by 19-year-old Justin Castillo of Gainesville, had no brake lights or tail lights for the driver to see, according to Mize.

The impact sent the four-wheeler off the roadway, while the Sentra crossed the centerline, where it was struck head on by a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by 18-year-old Evelyn Tello-Mendoza of Gainesville, who was traveling south.  Tello-Mendoza was uninjured.

Lindsey was fatally injured in the crash, while her passenger, identified as 21-year-ld Zacharey Pratt Lindsey of Gainesville, suffered what Mize described as serous, life-threatening injuries.

Both Castillo and a passenger on the four-wheeler, identified as 39-year-old Erick Alexander Letona Vincente of Gainesville, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Mize said Castillo has been charged with 2nd Degree Vehicular Homicide and other traffic offenses.
