Boys basketball: West Hall pulls away from Jackson County; East Jackson edges White County

OAKWOOD — The West Hall boys basketball team powered its way to a 82-62 victory over Jackson County on Monday night in Oakwood.

The Spartans (4-3) sprinted away from a 36-34 lead over the Panthers at the half.

Noah Edmondson scored 22 points, while Dee Buffington added 21 points for West Hall. Jeremiah Prather also scored 13 and Braden Martin 10 for the Spartans.

West Hall travels to face Marist on Thursday in Atlanta. (The game was originally scheduled for Friday but moved due to Marist hosting a state championship football game on Friday.)

The Eagles sank a contested 3-pointer with just 1.8 seconds remaining to seal a hardfought win on Monday.

Clay Dockery scored 17 points to pace the Warriors in the loss, while Chandler Harris added 14 and Austin Harris 12 points and 6 assists. Austin Rowland also put up 12 points.
