DAHLONEGA — Coming off of a fourth straight Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament championship, University of North Georgia head softball coach Mike Davenport has announced the 2018 slate of games set to start with the Gulf Coast Invitational on February 2, 2018. The season also includes 24 regular season games at Haines and Carolyn Hill Stadium, culminating with hosting the PBC Tournament starting May 4.

Last season, UNG advanced to the NCAA Southeast Super Regionals for the fourth consecutive year after posting over 45 wins for the eighth time in nine seasons. The Nighthawks won over 20 conference games for the fourth season in a row, posting an overall record of 48-13.

The Nighthawks will take part in five classic events to kick off the season, including the Gulf Coast Invitational in Gulf Shores, Alabama, from February 2-4; the South/Southeast Region Crossover, hosted by Flagler from February 9-11; the CSU Cougar Classic from February 17-18; the Disney Citrus Classic at Disney's Wide World of Sports on February 23-25; and the Loyal Blue Classic in Dahlonega March 3-4.

The home slate of games starts on February 14 with a doubleheader against Shorter. After the Loyal Blue Classic, the Nighthawks will host Lee on March 7 before starting PBC play against Columbus State on the road on March 11.

North Georgia will also take Claflin for the first time in program history in Dahlonega on April 4 and host Alabama Huntsville for the first time since 2014 on April 10. The regular season will conclude with an April 25 doubleheader against PBC rival Georgia College.
