Several days of below-normal temperatures appear in store for north Georgia starting this week

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

Several days and nights of below-average temperatures are expected across north Georgia, starting Wednesday, ushering in the coldest weather of the season so far.

Just how cold it is expected to get varies, depending on the source of the information, but the National Weather Service's 7-day forecast calls for daytime readings in the 40s and 50s, starting Wednesday and continuing through next weekend.  Nighttime lows in the Gainesville-Athens-Atlanta area are expected to be in the 20s and 30s.  This is expected to be preceded by rain Monday night and on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Forecasts from some other sources have nighttime lows dipping into the upper teens with some daytime highs in the 30s.  They are even calling for some snow showers, along with heavy rains.  The precipitation is expected to begin Mondaty night.
