Girls basketball: Dawson, North Hall, Banks, Lakeview and Towns victorious

DAWSONVILLE — The Dawson County girls basketball team fought past West Hall for a 60-47 victory on Friday in Dawsonville.

The Lady Spartans pounced on an 8-0 first quarter lead, but the Lady Tigers (3-1) responded and pulled within 12-11 after the first quarter and took a 28-17 advantage at the half.

Kaylee Sticker poured in a game-high 24 points to lead Dawson County, while Calli Watson added 19 points, including five made 3-pointers. Abi Chatham also scored 6.

Dawson County travels to face Blessed Trinity at 6 p.m. Tuesday.


NORTH HALL GIRLS 68,
COMMERCE 34

Macy Clark and Camilla Howell each scored 15 points to pace the Lady Trojans (3-1) on Friday.

North Hall begins region play at 6 p.m. Monday at Greater Atlanta Christian in Norcross.


BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 57,
HART COUNTY 53

Allison Smith scored 23 points to lead the Lady Leopards (3-0) to the win on Friday.

Jaycie Bowen also scored 16 in the win, while Amber Williams added 5 points.


LAKEVIEW GIRLS 64,
BLESSED TRINITY 54

Tori Taylor and Maddy Towles each scored 15 points to help lead the Lady Lions (1-3) to their first win of the campaign on Friday.  Sadie Thrailkill also added 10 points.

Lakeview travels to face Towns County net Friday in Hiawassee. 


TOWNS COUNTY GIRLS 50,
PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 24 

Defense led the way in a 26-point victory for the Lady Indians (1-4, 1-0 Region 8-A), as they forced 35 turnovers via a full-court press.  

Freshman, Kennedi Henson scored 16 points to pace Towns, while Taylor Cornett scored 12 and freshman Vanessa Floyd added 8.

The Lady Indians travel to Union County on Saturday, where they will try to avenge a 60-55 overtime defeat from earlier in the season.
