DAHLONEGA — Four University of North Georgia women's soccer players were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Teams as announced by the association Tuesday night. Asa Thorsen and Renee VanHorn were named to the second team, while McKenzie Anderson and Jessi Vaverka were named to the third team.

Thorsen played and started in all 18 games for UNG this season, tallying four goals and three assists, including a game-winner against West Georgia in overtime back in September. This is her first career All-Region honor.

VanHorn led the Nighthawks in goals scored (14) and points (35) and shared the title for most assists on the team (7). She tied for fourth in the Peach Belt Conference in points and was fifth in the league in goals scored and assists. Earlier this season, she was named to the D2CCA All-Region Second Team.

Anderson played and started in 17 matches for North Georgia, accumulating three goals and two assists. Vaverka notched a goal and an assist in 18 matches for UNG. Along with the rest of the defensive line, Anderson and Vaverka helped the Nighthawks to earn six shutouts this season. This is the first All-Region honor for either defender.
