(UPDATE) Girls prep basketball: West Hall, Dawson, Rabun girls pick up victories on Monday

COMMERCE — The West Hall girls basketball team knocked off Stephens County 55-42 on Monday in the semifinals of East Jackson Tanger Thanksgiving Tournament in Commerce.

The Lady Spartans (3-0) will play for the tournament title at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Social Circle.

Anna McKendree scored 32 points to pace West Hall, while Kinsey Wilson added 13 points.


DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 73,
DUNWOODY 30

The Dawson County girls basketball team stormed into the championship game of the the 2017 Tiger Tipoff Classic on Monday courtesy a 73-30 win over Dunwoody in Dawsonville.

The Lady Tigers pushed ahead 18-8 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, extending their advantage to 44-15 at halftime.

Kaylee Sticker led Dawson with 24 points, while Anna Lowe had 10. Chloe Bennett scored nine, Kati Brady eight and Calli Watson and Sophia d'Oliveira each scored seven.

The Lady Tigers play in the title game against Lanier -- which defeated South Forsyth on Monday -- at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Dawsonville. 


RABUN COUNTY GIRLS 62,
LAKEVIEW 52

Maddy Towles led the Lady Lions with 12 points in the loss to the Lady Wildcats on Monday in Demorest.

Jackie Allen also scored 10 for Lakeview, while Savannah Kinsey added nine points. 

The Lady Lions play again at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Piedmont College in Demorest.


UNION COUNTY GIRLS 60,
TOWNS COUNTY 55, OT

Union County led by 19 points with a little under three minutes to go in the third quarter. But, aided by a full-court press, Towns County went on a 26-4 run to take a three-point lead with under a minute to go in the game.

The Lady Panthers hit a shot with just :05 remaining to seal overtime and then opened the extra frame with a 7-2 run. The Lady Indians cut the lead to three and missed a potential tying 3-point shot with under a minute remaining.

Kennedi Henson finished with 26 points, and Vanessa Floyd 11 -- both freshmen -- to lead Towns County.
