GAINESVILLE — The Flowery Branch girls basketball team made it two wins in two games on the young season on Saturday with a 55-47 defeat of Carrollton in the Gainesville Thanksgiving Classic.
The Lady Falcons (2-0) jumped out to a 15-8 first quarter lead and never looked back en route to the win in a rematch of last year's Class AAAAA quarterfinals.
Taniyah Worth scored 23 points to lead the Branch, while Caroline Wysocki added 17.

The Lady War Eagles (1-2) broke into the win column on Saturday.
Lindsey Caudell paced Chestatee with 26 points, while Maggie McNair added 12 points. Callyssa Tyner also put up eight points, and Emma Easterwood and Christina Garcia scored six apiece.
