Guardian Pharmacy Services Expands to Iowa Through New Partnership with Right Dose Pharmacy

By The Associated Press

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov 14, 2017--Guardian Pharmacy Services, one of the nation’s largest long-term care (LTC) pharmacy companies, today announced that Right Dose Pharmacy, a leading independent long-term care pharmacy serving Iowa, is joining the Guardian family. This strategic partnership expands Guardian’s presence in the Midwest and is Guardian’s first venture into Iowa. The addition of these two locations in Cedar Rapids and Ankeny, located just outside of Des Moines, caps a year of stellar growth for the company which has added five new pharmacy partners in 2017.

Between its two locations, Right Dose Pharmacy serves more than 2,000 residents in assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, independent living, behavioral health and at-home patient care throughout Iowa. Rockford Anderson will continue to own and operate the pharmacy in partnership with Guardian, serving as president.

“We have worked hard to earn our reputation as a company that provides exceptional customer care, and we know partnering with Guardian will only enhance the services we offer,” said Rockford Anderson. “Our residents have always been our top priority and through this new partnership, we can provide additional market leading services to meet the needs of the entire Iowa LTC community.”

In addition to Anderson, all 24 Right Dose employees will continue to be employed at the pharmacies and the company expects to hire five additional staff members in 2018.

As part of the Guardian Pharmacy Services family, Right Dose Pharmacy will benefit from the company’s local-autonomy business model. This industry-unique model ensures that the local team can focus on customer service to meet the specialized needs of its communities and residents, while Guardian’s corporate team assists with the time consuming day-to-day business operations including payroll, HR, IT and more.

“Expanding our presence in the Midwest has been a focus for our company, but it was important that we found the right partner,” said Fred Burke, CEO and co-founder of Guardian Pharmacy Services. “Rockford and his team, share our passion and dedication for superior customer service. We are confident they will be a tremendous addition to the Guardian family.”

Right Dose Pharmacy represents two of 32 pharmacies in the Guardian family with locations in 16 states that together serve 100,000 residents. For more information, visit guardianpharmacy.net.
