Tuesday is election day

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

Voters will go to the polls Tuesday in scores of municipal and special elections around Georgia, including several in Hall County.

The mayors of Clermont, Flowery Branch and Lula each face challenges for their offices this year. Some incumbent council members in Flowery Branch, Gainesville and Oakwood also are being challenged.  After qualifying ended in late August, it also looked as if there would be a contested city commission race in Buford, but since then, Gary Ingram has been disqualified, leaving incumbent Chris Burge as the only candidate for the Post 2 seat.

A detailed list is of candidates, contested and non-contested, in Hall County is available here.  In some, if not all, instances where there are only uncontested races, the election has been officially canceled.

And, keep in mind, where there are municipal elections (such as for mayor, city council, city commission, etc.), they are only for people living inside the respective city limits.
