Another cold morning across north Georgia

North Georgians were greeted by second morning of temperatures in the 30's Monday.

On Sunday morning, temperatures dropped into the 30's in many locations across the region, the coldest readings of the fall so far.

Monday's freeze warning was posted through 10 a.m. and included ten counties in northeast Georgia.

"We do have many areas of north Georgia that are expecting low temperatures in the upper 20's to lower 30's," National Weather Service Meteorologist Lauren Merritt said.

The warning counties were Fannin, Gilmer, Union and Towns.  Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin and White counties were also included.

Despite the cold start, Merritt said conditions are expected to improve through out the day.

"By the time we get into the afternoon, we're expecting them (temperatures) to be closer into the 50's and 60's across many of the areas."

While Monday's temperatures were cold, winds were relatively calm compared to Sunday.
