By B.J. Williams

A Thursday morning traffic accident in Barrow County killed a man from Danielsville, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers said in an email statement that a vehicle was traveling northbound on Jefferson Highway (Ga. 11) outside of Winder just after 7 a.m. when the driver crossed the solid double yellow line and hit a southbound vehicle head-on.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, 32-year-old David Wesley Norris, was killed as a result of the collision.

Traffic reports on WDUN on Thursday morning indicated the highway was closed near Eastmont Road for about two hours while the accident was under investigation.

There is no word on charges at this point.

The Georgia State Patrol did not indicate if charges would be filed against the driver of the northbound vehicle.
