Alfredo breaks through with Fall Brawl win at Hickory

By Track PR

Anthony Alfredo took the lead with around 20 laps to go in Saturday night’s BoJangle’s Late Models 200 lap feature at North Carolina’s Hickory Motor Speedway, and drove away to score the Fall Brawl victory.

Ty Gibbs and Cole Glasson brought the field to green, with the duo battling side-by-side for the first ten laps before Gibbs would come away with the lead. Gibbs would hold the top spot through the first half of the race, and led the field down pit road at the halftime break as the leader.

Back under green, Gibbs would continue to lead, but soon came under fire from Austin McDaniel. After stalking Gibbs, McDaniel would eventually move to the top spot. Meanwhile, Alfredo had worked his way up to second, and began working over McDaniel for the lead, with the two running nose-to-tail for 20 laps.

With around 20 to go, Alfredo made the move to the lead, and held off several hard charges from McDaniel to take the victory. McDaniel had to settle for second, with Gibbs in third, Denxter Canipe, Jr. in fourth and Landon Huffman in fifth.

In other action, Don Fenn bypassed Bob Hapeman on the final lap to score the Classic Sportsman Racing Series victory. Jimmie DeKrafft finished in third, followed by Bill Powell in fourth and Bill Webb in fifth.

Mark Whitten took the win in the Cosmo Motors Street Stocks feature, with Cody DeMarmels in second, Kevin Eby in third, Jonathan Smith in fourth and Marshall Sutton in fifth.

Ryan Vasconcellos scored the victory in the Paramount Auto Group Limited Late Models feature. Zack Bruenger came home in second, with Tyler Gregory in third, Monty Cox in fourth and Alex Reece in fifth.

Allen Huffman edged out Clint Fields for the One Design Super Truck feature win. Sheflon Clay finished third, with Charlie Neill fourth and Chase Campbell fifth.

Hickory Motor Speedway returns to action November 17-18 with the PASS Series Mason-Dixon Mega Meltdown 300. For more information, visit HickoryMotorSpeedway.com.
