BOSTON (AP) — Hundreds of college students from across the U.S. will be coming to Boston for a leadership conference created by former President Bill Clinton.
Northeastern University is hosting the 10th annual Clinton Global Initiative University meeting, which gathers students and experts in a variety of fields to discuss solutions to pressing problems.
Clinton is scheduled to speak Friday about the need for a global community and how younger generations can achieve it.
The event runs through Sunday and also includes speeches from Chelsea Clinton, daughter of the former president and vice chairwoman of the Clinton Foundation, and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
Students who participate are required to make plans to tackle problems.
Topics being discussed this year include hurricane and disaster response, the opioid epidemic and relief for refugees.
