Pedestrian killed in Dawson County, driver identity unknown

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Dawson County Monday night, authorities said.
 
A Facebook post from the Dawson County Sheriff's office indicated the incident happened on Dawson Forest Road near Pinewood Trail.
 
"As of now, the suspect is unknown and GSP's (Georgia State Patrol's) Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team was able to collect evidence from the scene and is still under investigation," the Facebook entry stated.
 
Both the State Patrol and Sheriff's Office responded to the incident.
