HOSCHTON — Mill Creek sprinted away from a 7-7 first quarter tie for a 45-7 win over Discovery on Friday in Hoschton.
Uriah Leverette rushed 12 times for 191 yards and three scores, while Rafael Morales added 125 yards on 10 carries to help lead the Hawks (5-2, 2-1 Region 6-AAAAAAA).
Leverette opened the game with a 48-yard scoring run, and while Discovery responded with a 38-yard touchdown run to knot the score, Mill Creek fired back with five straight scores to close the first half.
Brady Longenecker tossed three touchdown passes for the Hawks, two to Austin Williams and one to Andrew Johns. Longenecker completed 7 of 10 passes for 83 yards.
Mill Creek will travel to Peachtree Ridge next week.
