Unoccupied Forsyth County mobile home destroyed in morning fire

Forsyth County Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed an unoccupied mobile home in the northern part of the county Monday morning.

Authorities were alerted to the fire around 8 a.m. on Dr. Bramblett Road, off of Ga. 369, said Jason Shivers, Forsyth County Fire, division chief.

"(It) was found by a deputy on his normal routine morning patrol. He saw a significant column of smoke, pulled off the road, pulled down a fairly lengthy driveway and found a double-wide mobile home that was heavily involved in fire," said Shivers, reached by phone.

Nobody was living in the home at the time, and the structure is likely a total loss.

"We certainly want to get to the bottom of it, but (it's) nothing that's terribly concerning at this point," said Shivers.

Authorities have been in contact with the property owner, said Shivers.
