Lady Lions dominate Hawks in Cave Arena with 85-49 win

DEMOREST — The Lady Lions took on the Hawks of Huntingdon College in Cave Arena Saturday dominating the contest 85-49 in front of a raucous Cave Crazy crowd.

In the opening quarter of the contest Amari Price was sent to the line early to start the scoring for the Lady Lions. PC put up 18 points in the first highlighted by Erin Clifford draining a bucket from way downtown as the buzzer sounded to end the quarter putting Piedmont ahead 18-12.

With Cave Arena still buzzing with excitement PC would go on an 11 point run highlighted by two big threes from Jalen Davis keeping the Lady Lions on top 29-15 in the final five minutes in the half. Piedmont took the ball from the Hawks 13 times over the first half with PC extending the lead to 12 before the break. 

Coming out of the locker room the Lady Lions jumped into gear early going on a 14-2 run in the opening minutes. Piedmont spent plenty of time at the charity stripe in the second half claiming 15 free points in the third and nine in the fourth.

The Lady Lions led throughout the majority of the game and the Hawks were not able to gain momentum. Piedmont held off the Hawks winning the contest 85-49, keeping the streak of wins in Cave Arena alive as they are a perfect 9-0 at home. 

he Lady Lions set the tone in the second half going on a 14-2 run in the first two minutes of the third quarter.
