Murr ties single game 3-pointer record in 74-64 Truett win

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Junior Anna Murr tied her own TMU single game record with seven made three pointers as the Truett McConnell women's basketball team knocked off Columbia College, 74-64, Wednesday night at Godbold Arena. The Bears are 11-9 overall with the win and have tied the TMU single season record for league wins with seven wins.

The Bears had to battle all night as Columbia played extremely physical to take an early lead. The bench players gave TMU a huge spark in the second quarter led by Murr to give the Bears a four-point lead going into halftime.

The Koalas were able to keep it close throughout the second half, but Murr would continue to find open room to hit threes to keep the Bears ahead. Free throws late helped to seal the win for TMU as Columbia fought until the final horn.

Murr finished with 21 points on 7-14 shooting. Quinlan Hughes finished with 14 points, while Janae' Simpson contributed 13 points and seven boards.

The Bears will return to the friendly confines of the Bear Cave on Saturday as they host Bryan College in the two teams' first matchup of the season. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
