South Hall authorities trying to identify, arrest iPhone thieves

The same three suspects could be responsible for stealing iPhones from two south Hall County wireless stores as well as one in Stone Mountain, police said Wednesday.

In Hall County, the estimated value of the phones was roughly $11,000, according to the Oakwood Police Department.

The Oakwood case happened Monday at about 11:00 a.m. at the Verizon Wireless store at 3612 Mundy Mill Road.  It involved two males and one female in their late teens to early 20's, according to Sgt. Danny Sridej.  He said the suspects pretended to be shopping and grabbed five phones from the employee desk and ran.

"The suspects left in a white four door Mercedes-Benz E500 with Texas temporary tag number 96D4209," Sridej wrote in a news release.

On Tuesday, investigators believe the same three suspects an additional female and a juvenile targeted the AT&T store in Stonebridge Village in Flowery Branch and made off with several iPhone 7s worth over $7000.

While it's out of Hall County, Sridej said authorities believe the original three suspects and an additional female and male stole iPhones from a Verizon Wireless store in Stone Mountain.  They allegedly gained access to the rear of the store by asking an employee to use the restroom on Monday.

Sridej asked that anyone with information on the suspects or vehicle shown in surveillance photos call the Oakwood Police Department at (770) 534-2364.  He advised citizens not to make contact with the suspects.
