CLARKESVILLE — Habersham County Sheriff's Office officials are seeking the public's help locating a man they say led deputies on a motor vehicle chase in the Cornelia area on Jan. 2.
That pursuit involved a black Dodge Ram, and the male driver fled from the vehicle and eluded capture.
The passenger, Heather Ann Cornelius, was arrested that night and charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers, and giving false name, address or date of birth to law enforcement officer.
"The Habersham County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver of the black Dodge as 30-year-old Steven Anthony Bass of Cornelia," said Lt. Matt Wurtz on Tuesday.
Bass is described as a white male, 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a tattoo on the right side of his face around his eye and cheek area.
Bass is facing charges in Habersham County in connection with the chase, including fleeing and attempting to elude and obstruction of an officer.
