A Gainesville woman is charged with statutory rape for an alleged consensual sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy, Hall County authorities said Friday.
Jessica Nicole Roberts, 33, was arrested Tuesday, according to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Wilbanks.
"She was familiar with the victim through a family relationship," Wilbanks said.
He added that the investigation revealed the relationship happened over several months beginning in mid-2015.
"The relationship was initially brought to investigators' attention after our deputies responded to a domestic incident between the victim and the perpetrator," Wilbanks said.
He said that incident occurred on September 13. The 15-year-old was charged with criminal damage to property in the second degree and simple battery, according to Wilbanks.
Roberts is free on $16,700 bond. The case remains under investigation.
