No. 22 UNG women's soccer hands Young Harris its first loss, 2-1

DAHLONEGA — The No. 22 University of North Georgia women's soccer erased a first-half deficit to defeated the previously unbeaten Mountain Lions of Young Harris College in a hard fought, 2-1 victory, Wednesday evening in Dahlonega. With the win the Nighthawks improve to 5-1-1 and 3-1 in the Peach Belt Conference on the season.

Young Harris struck first in the 23rd minute when a free kick taken from 30 yards out by Laisy Scardazzi floated past North Georgia goalkeeper Kaitlyn Siberski you struggled finding the ball against the setting sun.

North Georgia scored the equalizer in the 61st when Rosie Embley's masterful footwork allowed her to score off a long cross in from Rachel VanHorn followed by a quick pass in the box from Mollie Arrendale.

Michaela Sundstrom scored the game-winning goal for the Nighthawks in the 65-th winning a ball from a YHC defender at the top of the box and delivering a powerful shot just inside the post.
