Softball: Lady Vikings get 14 strikeouts from Redmon in 10-1 win

COMMERCE — An ace performance by Steffanie Redmon carried the East Hall softball team to a 10-1 win over Commerce on Wednesday at Commerce High School.

Redmon racked up 14 strikeouts in the Lady Vikings win, allowing no earned runs on five hits and no walks over seven innings. She also racked up 2 RBI on 2 hits, including a double.

The game was never in doubt after the second inning, as East Hall scored three runs on two errors and an RBI single by Jennifer Lopez. The Lady Vikings built upon their lead with four runs in the fourth. Redmon's single got things going, scoring Makayla Wilson and Lopez. That was followed up by Kaitlyn Daniel's double, plating Mia Rakestraw and Redmon. East Hall tacked on another three runs in the seventh. Macy Banks doubled, bringing home Redmon to start the inning. That was followed up by Carley Cox's single, scoring Banks.

Alicia Webb took the loss for Commerce.
