Softball: Lady Trojans batter Fannin County, 10-1

BLUE RIDGE — The North Hall softball team blew past Fannin County 10-1 on Tuesday night in Blue Ridge.

Kailee Dyer (2-for-5, 1 RBI, 2 runs) led off the third inning for the Lady Trojans (6-4, 6-0 Region 7-AAA) with a double, and she advanced to third on an error before crossing the plate on a sacrifice fly by Ashlyn Brewster (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs, 1 SB).

Fannin County tied the game in the bottom of the third inning, but North Hall answered with four runs in the top of the fourth. Camilla Howell (1-for-3, 1 run) started the inning off with a single and moved to third on a double by Carson Negley (3-for-3, 2 runs).  Niki Carver (3-for-5, 4 RBI, 2 runs, 1 SB) followed with another double to score both runners.  Singles by Brewster and Macy Clark (2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 SB) accounted for two more runs.  North Hall added three runs in the fifth as Carver scored on a single by Dyer, who then scored on an error. Brewster crossed the plate later in the inning on a wild pitch. The Lady Trojans plated their final two runs in the sixth on a double by Carver scoring Amber Smith and Negley. Hailey Tanner (1-for-3, 1 SB) and Julian Garrett (1-for-2, 1 SB) also had hits for the Lady Trojans.

Charli Shepheard picked up the win by pitching 5 innings. She allowed one earned run on two hits and three walks while striking out six batters. Dyer pitched one scoreless inning and struck out two.

North Hall hosts Greater Atlanta Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday.
