Deputies, SWAT serving drug warrants in Banks County

HOMER — It's a busy morning for law enforcement personnel in Banks County as they are in the process of serving several search warrants and arrest warrants at locations in Homer and Alto.

"Banks County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance from Hall County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team, Lee Arrendale [State Prison] K-9 Team, and GSP Aviation are currently serving search warrants at residences on Dailey Road in Alto, Evans Street in Homer and Athens Street in Homer," said Banks County Sheriff's Lt. Carissa McFaddin. "We are also serving a number of arrest warrants at these locations."

McFaddin said no schools have been locked down as a result of the warrant service, nor have any injuries been reported during the raids.

"These warrants were obtained due to an ongoing, indepth narcotics investigation," McFaddin said.

McFaddin said names of those arrested and more information will be forthcoming.
