Volleyball: East Hall notches 300th win for Deppe

CLEVELAND — The East Hall volleyball team extended its season record to 13-3 on Thursday by defeating White County 25-13, 25-11 in Cleveland -- a victory that gave coach Ted Deppe his 300th victory with the program.

The Lady Vikings also fell to Flowery Branch 25-19, 25-17 at the tri-match.

Savannah Thellman had 6 points scored on serve with 4 aces, 2 kills, 4 digs and 24 assists to help pace East Hall, while Holly Poole had 6 points scored on serve with 3 aces, 6 kills, 1 assist, 2 blocks and 4 digs. Meanwhile, Summer Lindsey had 8 points scored on serve with 1 ace, 1 kill, 4 assists and 14 digs; Tessa Rider scored 11 points on serve with 3 aces, 10 kills, 2 blocks and 11 digs; Minette Maldonado scored 12 points on serve with 4 aces, 17 kills and 5 digs; Niyah Rucker had 16 kills, 1 dig and 5 blocks; and Ariana Hernandez scored 3 points on serve with 1 assist and 2 digs.

Coach Deppe is in the midst of his 14th season with East Hall.

The Lady Vikings play at Stephens County on Monday against Stephens County and Johnson with games beginning at 5 p.m.
