Roberts makes it lucky No. 7 with Anderson LMS victory

By Brandon Reed Reporter

David Roberts has dominated in the Late Model Stock division at Anderson Motor Speedway in 2016.

He continued that domination on Friday night at the Williamston, S.C. raceway, as he beat out R.A. Brown to score his seventh division feature victory of the season.

To date, he’s the only driver to win more than one feature in the division this year, with Marty Ward and Cody Haskins being the only two drivers to make it to victory lane.

The win adds to Roberts’ division points lead, as the Simpsonville, South Carolina native leads Brown by a 33 point margin, with 227 points to Brown’s 194.

On Friday night, Neil Meredith trailed Roberts and Brown in third, with Mitchell Mote in third and Kenneth Headen in fifth.

In other action, Shaun Mize held off Marion Thomas to take the Super Limited feature victory. Steve Carver finished in third, with Jacob York in fourth and Troy Burgess in fifth.

Brandon Segars took the victory in the BM Modifieds feature. Jason McDowell finished in second, with Chuck Mitchell in third, Chad Stewart in fourth and Austin Northcutt in fifth.

B.J. Thrasher scored the win in the Mini Stocks feature, with Tyler Sease in second, Koleman Bryant in third, Bryan Mitchell in fourth and Ryan Howard in fifth.

Karl Moberg was victorious in the US Legends feature, with Braden Langille, Randy Gunton, Lee Jordan and Danny Cisson rounding out the top five.

In the Front Wheel Drive feature, Tommy Davis drove to the win, with Michael Posey in second, Chris Harvell in third, Shane Brown in fourth and Casey Burkett in fifth.

Anderson Motor Speedway returns to action with a rare Saturday night event, on July 30, as the raceway plays host to the 75 lap Southeast Super Truck Series Showdown, along with the Southeast Super Stocks, Carolina Vintage, Mini Cups and Big Rig racing.
