McDowell marches to Southern Nationals win at Wythe

RURAL RETREAT, Va. - Dale McDowell took the lead from Donald Bradsher with four laps to go in Saturday night’s Southern Nationals Series opener and went on to take the win at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia.

The Chickamauga, Georgia racer scored a $10,000 payday in his first-ever series victory. McDowell also became the 29th different winner in series history.

Bradsher held on to finish in the second position, with Chris Brown in third, Gregg Satterlee in fourth and Shanon Buckingham in fifth.

Devin Gilpin, Ricky Weiss, Stacy Boles, Vic Hill and Billy Ogle, Jr. rounded out the top ten.
