ATHENS — Despite a rough second day and shotting a 10-over par 81, Gainesville High golfer Davis Weaver was able to hold off Mac Ehringer of Dawsonville by one stroke for an 11-over 153 total to win the UGA Junior Classic Wednesday on the University of Georgia Golf Course.

Weaver actually sat at even-par after a birdie on No. 4 but struggled over the final 14 holes. He bogeyed Nos. 6, 7, 10, 11, and 13 and had double-bogeys on 8, 14, and 18.

Ehringer shot a 1-over 72 on Wednesday but was after an 11-over 82 on Tuesday. He birdied three of the final seven holes to get within a stroke but managed only a par on 18 in anattempt to pull into a tie with Weaver.

Fellow Gainesville High golfer Rogan Hogan, who started the day four shots back of Weaver, shot an 8-over 79 to finish at 13-over 155 in a tie for third overall. Hogan was within two shots of the lead heading into No. 17 but pared both holes and could get no closer.
