Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton Labor & Delivery to open ahead of schedule

By AccessWDUN staff
Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton has moved up the due date for the opening of its new Labor & Delivery unit.

“We’re proud to announce that Sept. 12 will be the official opening date for our new Labor & Delivery unit at NGMC Braselton,” says Anthony Williamson, President of NGMC Braselton.  “We’re excited to offer mothers due in September the option of delivering here in Braselton.”

October 1 had been the target date but Williamson said earlier this year that work on the unit was progressing so well that he was hoping for a mid-September opening.  Construction on the new unit began in May 2015, just over a month after the hospital opened.

The unit will feature ten labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms.  It will also have a family waiting area, two cesarean section suites, on-site lactation consultants and a Level II Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit for babies needing a little extra care.

While there’s still work to be done on the unit, expectant parents can schedule a tour of the new unit and/or sign up for childbirth education classes now.  Tours can be scheduled at your convenience (no more than 48 hours in advance) by calling 770-848-3328.
