Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement officials are investigating the Sunday evening death of a Maryland man on Lake Lanier in Forsyth County.
The boating accident happened in Bald Ridge Creek, according to DNR Law Enforcement Division Public Affairs Officer Mark McKinnon. He said authorities responded to the incident shortly after 7:00 p.m.
"The victim was being pulled behind a boat on a tube," McKinnon wrote in an email.
The victim was 34-years-old.
"Currently no charges have been filed but that could change as the investigation progresses," McKinnon added.
The incident is under investigation by the department's Critical Incident Reconstruction Team. It could take six weeks to complete, McKinnon said.
Authorities were trying to locate family members of the victim before releasing his name.
