Forsyth County shooting suspect's vehicle found abandoned in Buford

The vehicle belonging to a suspect wanted for a double shooting in Forsyth County has been found in Buford, near the Mall of Georgia.

Ronald Eric Lofland, 47, allegedly fled the scene on Darla Avenue in Cumming in the early morning hours Monday in a gold 2003 Jeep Liberty, according to Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez.

That Jeep was found Tuesday morning around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Ga. 20 (Buford Drive) and I-985, pulled off to the side of the road.

It was taken back to Forsyth County, where deputies will search it.

Rodriguez said in an email that he is not sure what, if any, leads investigators might have as to Lofland's whereabouts.

The two victims in the shooting, a man and a woman, suffered non-life threatening injuries, and both are listed in stable condition.

Lofland is not believed to be a threat to the public, as the shooting is believed to be domestic.

The female victim is believed to be the wife or ex-wife of Lofland.
