GAINESVILLE — Standout high school soccer players from throughout the area converged on Gainesville's Allen Creek Park on Sunday to take part in the first Hall County FCA East-West All-Star game for that sport.
Team West dominated the second half to win the girls game 5-1.
Taylor Buffington and Katie Estrada each scored first half goals to help the West to a 2-1 first half lead after Rachel Cohn also scored for the East. Estrada, Margaret Carpenter and Alexis Flanagan each scored for the West in the second half.
Meanwhile, Team East took a 4-2 win in the boys game. Leo Toledo bagged three goals for the East, including two second half strikes, as the East pulled away from a 1-0 halftime lead. Alex Zimmerman and Diego Porras each scored for the West, while Bryan Gálvez also scored for the East in the win.
