Two Habersham fires ruled arson

Two separate fires that happened Thursday in Habersham County have been ruled arson by the office of Ralph Hudgens, Georgia insurance commissioner.

The fires broke out around 4:30 p.m. at a site built home and a mobile home on Hollywood Canyon Road in Clarkesville, according to a press release.

The site built home suffered moderate damage, while the mobile home suffered minor damage, and both incidents were reported by the property owner when she returned home from work.

A reward is on the table for up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804; callers can remain anonymous if they choose.
