GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview Academy girls soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Mt. Pisgah Christian on Wednesday in the second round of the Class A playoffs in Gainesville.
The Lady Lions scored first, as Jackie Allen volleyed a deflected ball from a corner kick into the corner of net.
Mt. Pisgah knotted the score at 1-1 at the 22-minute mark of the first half, however, and the contest stayed tied through the first half. The visitors scored the winner with 16:42 left to play.
Seniors Emma Reinhardt, Annalee Skinner, and Sarah Hutchinson played well on defense in their last game at Lakeview. Seniors Madison Smith, Shannon Waddell, and Bree Bell also played exceptionally well at midfield in their last contest.
Lakeview's season is now complete.
