CUMMING - A woman from Cumming lost her life and another driver suffered injuries during a traffic accident in the south end of Forsyth County Tuesday morning.
The crash happened on Georgia 9 or Atlanta Highway at Anthem Parkway around 7:15 a.m., according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of a Honda Accord, Marianella Sanchez, 59, died in the collision with a Ford F150 pickup truck, according to Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez.
The driver of the truck was transported to a hospital with what Rodriguez described as non-life threatening injuries.
"The cause of the crash is still under investigation, alcohol or drugs are not suspected at this time," Rodriguez wrote in an email.
Authorities had urged motorists to avoid the area as they investigated the accident. Deputies opened the intersection west of Georgia 400 for traffic again around 9:20 a.m.
