Gwinnett kindergarten registration now includes online option

Parents of soon-to-be kindergartners in Gwinnett County can now take to the Internet to complete most of their child's school registration.

The online registration opens Monday for parents of children who will be five years old or older by September 1, according a press release from the Gwinnett County School System.

The online portion will not exempt parents from attending the official registration day on May 5 to submit the required birth and health records and residence information; school officials encourage parents to bring their kindergartner with them.

There will be activities, which will vary from school to school, for children to get a feel for what to expect when they come to school in August.

The first day of school for the 2016-17 school year is August 8.

Here is a list of the acceptable items parents should bring with them on May 5.
