CLEVELAND — The Gainesville boys golf team took first place on Saturday in the Warrior Invitational at Mossy Creek Golf Course in Cleveland.
The Red Elephants carded a 301 to pace a field that featured 37 teams, led by Spencer Ralston's 64 -- whixh beat out the tournament record of 68 set by Madison County's Ryan Hybl in 2001.
Davis Weaver also carded a 76, while Ryan Hogan added a 79 and AD Winston an 81.
Gainesville's B team also finished fifth overall with a score of 317. Brody Simmons carded a 74 (junior varsity low medalist), while Drew Lasseter fired a 79, Brady Holcomb an 81 and Hunter Worley an 83.
Dunwoody finished second with a team score of 301; North Forsyth was third with a 310.
