ATLANTA (AP) — Keyona Hayes led a balanced attack with 16 points and No. 19 Miami held off Georgia Tech 58-55 on Thursday night despite missing three free throws in the closing seconds.

Georgia Tech closed within 57-55 with 20 seconds to play but after Jessica Thomas missed two free throws with 6.7 seconds left, the ball went out of bounds off the Yellow Jackets.

Adrienne Motley was fouled with 4.3 seconds remaining and after she missed the second free throw, Georgia Tech got the ball in the front court but Antonia Peresson's desperation shot was well off the mark.

Motley finished with 13 points for the Hurricanes (21-4, 9-3 ACC), who finished 9 of 16 from the foul line. Erykah Davenport had 12 points and Thomas finished with 10.

Aaliyah Whiteside had 20 points for the Yellow Jackets (14-11, 4-8) and Roddreka Rogers had 15 points with 14 rebounds.

Miami, which won its third straight, led 31-23 at halftime.
