North Georgia business owner Lee Goff will present the seminar titled "7 Ways Company Culture Leads to Business Success" as part of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce's monthly small business seminar series that cover a variety of issues important to small business development.
The two-hour presentation presentation will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the Chamber office on E.E. Butler Parkway in Gainesville.
This month's seminar focuses on how to create a high performance company culture and why it is essential to the recruiting process.
Goff, the founder and co-owner of Dahlonega based GetUWired Inc., said in an interview this week the company culture of a small business is vital to getting the best employees.
"The 'old-school mentality' of working for money is going away. It's different in the millennial generation. For the next generation of workers, money is not in their top three reasons for working. If you, as a business owner, can get ahead of that curve now, then you will get the top-tier talent," Goff said in an interview on WDUN's Afternoon News Wrap.
Goff's company,which is a marketing and automation organization, recently was a recipient of Entrepreneur Magazine's "Top Company Culture Award" – only one of 25 small business in the country to make this prestigious list, which recognizes companies with a high-performance, high-passion culture.
Goff said he often takes his employees on team-building retreats to gun ranges, white water rafting venues, and cook-outs to create a family-based atmosphere. The result, he said, has helped increase productivity and employee buy-in.
"You got to care. You have to love your employees, because if you do, they're going to love you back."
