Tennessee fugitive nabbed in Forsyth County

CUMMING - U.S. Marshals requested the assistance of the Forsyth County Sheriffs Office Wednesday morning in following up on a tip that the last remaining fugitive from a Tennessee jail was camped out in the woods behind the BP Gas station at 901 Buford Highway.

Forsyth County Sheriffs Corporal Pete Saballa said at approximately 12:20 p.m. David Frazier, 55, of New Port, Tennessee, was taken into custody at that location without incident.

"I do know he was charged as a Fugitive From Justice, but what the original charges were I don't know," Saballa said of Frazier.

"I do know he escaped, him and five other inmates escaped on Christmas Day from the jail up there (Cocke County Jail Annex in Newport, Tennessee)," Saballa said.

Frazier was transported to the Forsyth County Jail where he awaits extradition back to Tennessee.
