Buford, Mill Creek, North Gwinnett all set for 2017 Kell Classic

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Buford, Mill Creek and North Gwinnett football programs are each set to take part in the 2017 Corky Kell Classic.

The site of the contests is still in question -- Published reports in Monday's Gwinnett Daily Post noted that Classic directors hope to reach an agreement with Atlanta’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, though that may not be settled until May.

In the meantime, the soon to be 26-year-old competition is looking for alternatives should the new stadium be unavailable.

Buford is set to face Hillgrove at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Meanwhile Mill Creek will take on McEachern in a rematch of the 2016 Class AAAAAA quarterfinals at 5:45 p.m. Saturday. North Gwinnett will close out the nine-game showcase with an 8:45 p.m. Saturday contest against Walton.

Other games scheduled to take part in the 2017 Kell include Lee County vs. Mary Persons, Houston County vs. Jones County, Roswell vs. South Forsyth, Kell vs. Tucker, Archer vs. Brookwood and Norcross vs. Colquitt County.
