The Chestatee High boys basketball team fought its way to a 62-53 win over Jackson County on Friday.
The War Eagles (4-6) took an 11-point lead early in the second quarter behind baskets from Nick Lyles and Cam Gwinn. Yet the Panthers closed the gap and even took a 25-23 halftime lead that swelled to 13 points by the middle of the third quarter, 39-25.
But Donavan Hernandez, Matt McLean and Gwinn each sank key baskets to help the War Eagles to a comeback win.
Chestatee travels to face Johnson at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
