CLEVELAND — The Truett McConnell women's basketball team came back from a four-point halftime deficit to defeat Montreat, 56-46, in AAC action Wednesday night. The Bears are now on a three-game winning streak.

After leading by a point through 10 minutes, the Bears went cold from the field in the second quarter, shooting just 2-of-16 from the field in the period, falling behind by four.

TMU responded in the third quarter, though, and went 8-of-19 from the field, scoring 21 points in the frame. The three-point shooting heated up in the fourth quarter, starting with back-to-back Bear threes from Anna Murr and Ariana Sanders.

Sanders led TMU in the scoring column, notching 20 points on the night. Quinlan Hughes finished a point shy of a double-double, recording nine points and 14 boards in the win.

The Bears play one more conference game prior to the calendar rolling over to 2017, and they will do so on Saturday as they travel up to Bluefield for a 2 p.m. tip off.
